This beautiful valley (see photo opposite) meets the Atlantic on Gomera’s west coast. Tourism is more apparent here and by the sea there is a definite holiday atmosphere (El Molino Azul, Tres Palmeras). The main beach is probably the best on the island stretching from one end of the bay to the other. The terraces of the upper valley (Casas La Cueva and La Vizcaina) are still farmed by local families. La Calera (Casa Andreina) provides both a genuine old village atmosphere whilst being a 15 minute walk to the beach.
