The Canary Islands are situated off the southern tip of Morocco, just north of the Tropic of Cancer. La Gomera and Tenerife like the other Canary Islands offer almost the only winter sun holidays that are a short haul flight away from the UK and northern Europe. The southern coastal areas of both islands enjoy temperatures in the 70s Fahrenheit (20+ Centigrade) even in January.
